SCV SMARTS: Make This Busy Weekend Work for Your Shop

This weekend is a gift for Santa Clarita small businesses — if you are ready for it.

After a stormy Thursday, the skies clear for Saturday and Sunday, and the valley fills up: a quilt show and a fall boutique in the morning, a floating pumpkin patch and trunk-or-treats in the evening, a harvest festival all weekend, and hundreds of riders and runners at West Creek Park on Sunday morning. That is a lot of neighbors out of the house and moving around town.

Three simple moves before Friday night:

Post your weekend hours and one weekend offer. People plan their Saturday on Friday. A short post — your hours, one special, one photo — puts you on their route.

Be visible where the crowds already are. A sidewalk sign or A-frame during Saturday's events costs almost nothing and catches exactly the foot traffic those events create.

Take pictures while it is busy. Ten photos of a full shop, a happy customer (ask first), or your team in action become next week's social posts — made on the one weekend the content makes itself.

None of this needs a budget. It just needs to happen before the weekend does.
