Some listings you skim. Lindon's makes you stop. He is a 7-year-old white Maltese — a neutered male, about 18 pounds — who arrived at the Castaic Animal Care Center on September 24 and now carries the status every shelter dog hopes for: "Ready to go home."

At seven, Lindon is past the puppy chaos: small, grown, and the kind of companion who fits right into a quiet house and a daily walk routine. If you have been thinking about a dog, this is your week to go meet him.
